Archimede Fusillo

Archimede (Archie) Fusillo is a first generation Australian who was born in Melbourne to Italian migrant parents. He attended a boys’ school, St Joseph’s Fitzroy and went on to study Psychology at the University of Melbourne. He is also a teacher and was nominated by his students for the Victorian Teacher Excellence Awards.

His first novel, Sparring with Shadows was published in 1997. He has also written over 40 other stories, with his notable novels including The Dons, Last of the Braves, Bruises: Boys Don’t Cry and his most recent title, Tribal Lores. His writing focuses on the challenges of growing into manhood, around the demands and expectations of family, friends and learning to be true to yourself.
